COLLABORATION IS KEY

PROJECT AIM: 

Box Clever MCR is helping Manchester residents be involved in transforming parts of their communities into more desirable and interesting places to live in. Public Art brings people together, it gives us a sense of focus, helps to create a local identity and re-energise community pride. In some cases, we adopt our much loved flashes of creativity in our places and it can often feel that they become our own, helping us to identify with our place and feel more positive about where we live. When people feel positive about where they live, when they feel empowered, truly wonderful things can happen. Not all areas are blessed with large pots of funding to keep things looking beautiful and ticking over, Box Clever MCR is ready to help local communities get involved in bridging the gap and bringing community art to everyone. We don’t have to just look at grey uninspiring spaces, all communities deserve the opportunity to be exposed to creativity where they live. We work with up and coming and also established artists to deliver projects  across the city.

ROLE: Project lead. 

Created project research, secured permissions and managed health and safety and risk assessments. Booked artists, completed community engagement, managed social media accounts, created logo and branding, content for social media, filmed and edited videos.
